It all began in 1990 on a cold, wet
autumn day. Dreamers, planners,
cookers, musicians and skeptics,
all together for the first of many
fun-filled Chilimania festivals!
There are no more skeptics!
Chilimania is arguably one of the
Midwest’s, if not the country’s,
most entertaining and well
organized chili cook-off
competitions. Stop by for a bite,
some entertainment, or try your
hand at one or more of the chili
cooking contests.
Chilimania plays host to the
Wisconsin State Championship
CASI-Sanctioned cook-off (Chili
Appreciation Society
International). The CASI cook-off is
open to any cooker as long as
they prepare chili-grind chili and
their chili preparation meets CASI
regulations (see all cook-off rules
below). In addition to the CASI
Wisconsin State Championship,
Chilimania will host their
"TRADITIONAL," anything goes,

The public tasting of chili is a
chance for the general public to
taste chili cooked by the
contestants. Each contestant is
required to make 2 or more
gallons of chili to share with the
crowd. After paying for admission,
all you need to do is get a free
chili tasting cup from various
locations throughout the festival
grounds between 3PM and while
supplies last. You will then be
allowed to sample as much chili
as your heartburn can handle!
Admission to Chilimania is $6 at
the gate, with children under 12
admitted free if supervised by an
adult.
